Book Review – Quiet: The Power of Introverts

I just finished Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain and I really enjoyed it.  The book explores the difference between introverts and extroverts using lots of actual psychological studies as evidence to back up its conclusions.  As a strong introvert, it really helped to empower me and to see my introversion not as a liability, but something I could use to my advantage.  Introversion is not an inferior way of being, the way our very extroverted culture in North America would have us believe, but simply a different way of being, and it comes with its own power and advantages.  I also loved that it helps me understand why I am the way I am.  I would recommend this book to any introvert interested in finding more about themselves, and also any extrovert who wants to find out how the other half of the population thinks.
